Following the Thoroughbred Makeover, I was contacted by Kirsten about participating in the Southern Equine Expo. It is held each year in Murfreesboro, TN and is a great event to attend for all horse lovers! You can see many different breeds, disciplines, clinics & competitions while you're there.
Our favorite part was easily the colt starting competition! It is so neat to watch the babies go from knowing nothing to someone getting on them and loping circles around in such a short time. There was a spotlight time for the Thoroughbreds and the Retired Racehorse Project had 4 competitors to showcase their OTTB's. It was really neat to have all the different disciplines happening in one arena, all the while interesting to see how my barrel horse would handle going through the pattern while jumps were still set up all around us. It was another fun weekend for us, and our best friend & hauling partner - Brittany. Below is a little more info about the Southern Equine Expo. The Southern Equine Expo returns to the Tennessee Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on February 22-24, 2019 for the seventh year. We built our reputation by providing the highest quality clinics presented by nationally known horsemen, educational seminars, and hands-on demonstrations. Southern Equine Expo is dedicated to improving the care of horses through education of their owners. During the event, attendees will enjoy clinics presented by nationally known horsemen, educational seminars, and hands-on demonstrations. Again at this year’s Expo will be the COLT STARTING CHALLENGE sponsored by Lost Creek Cattle Company and the Smoky Mountain Trail Challenge presented by Seminole Feeds.
