This winter has definitely been a wet one. They said it would be but we tried to stay positive and think that they were wrong. And although it didn't get super cold until later in December, this feels like one of the longest winters in a while. I guess it's because it's been so wet and our riding time outside has been limited and the horses have been up a lot more in their stalls.
You know the saying "Happy Wife, Happy Life"? Well I think it should be "Happy Horses, Happy Life". I can't blame them if they get grouchy or a little "wild" during all of this because I hate being stuck inside too. Thankfully we have a round pen set up in the barn so even if they can't go outside, they can stretch their legs at least. Below is a pic of Grace from last night. She has her feed, a Himalayan salt lick, a full hay bag (which usually gets refilled 3 times a day with about half a bale of hay), fresh water and her mineral lick. So she always has something to keep her busy. What things do you add to your stall for your horses?
